Hopefully someone can answer this for me. I have read that drilling a hole through center of the metal back of an MV lens will give a convincing appearance of it being lit by a bulb. Cool. Many diesels, though, like the F7s that New Haven/CT-DOT had in the '90s, have what appear to be two bulbs within a single round housing. If I drill not a single hole but rather two, each being off-center, will I get that effect? Or won't it be distinct enough to be recognizeable as two sources of light?

Well, to answer my own question I decided to go ahead and try it. Seems to work, though the light flare in reality isn't as much as what came out in the photo. This is just holding an LED flashlight inside the shell which is why it's so blue; once it's finished it will have a warm while LED behind the MV Products lens.
