I was surprised to see this in a box of junk houses. It's by Ideal and has a bulb which I haven't tried and won't be disappointed if it doesn't light. it's old and that's neat. This is probably not the correct chimney. The other pic shows the info on the bottom. Anyone know what year it might have been made?

I think its from the 50s. I think Ideal made HO accessories and later or maybe at the same time, the same accessories were made by Gilbert for American Flyer.
Check out the American Flyer HO forum. There is a link to the American Flyer HO website where there are catalogs that you can look at.
I think this is the same house, but in kit form.... http://gilbertho.org/home.htm
The Ideal bridges that I am looking for are also in these catalogs made by Gilbert.

59Chevy, Thanks. There is a Cape Cod kit there by Gilbert in a blister pack made in '62-'63 that looks like a version of my house. I'll keep looking to narrow it down a bit more but this is a great start.

I didn't see any built-up houses in the catalogs, but it looks like your house is somehow in that family of Ideal/Gilbert/American Flyer products.
Maybe Ideal offered them already built and American Flyer only offered them in kits.

I searched a bit and didn't come up with anything other than that kit which is very close. I had this in a box for almost 2 weeks before I really looked at it. I think it's in great shape for it's apparent age.

Hi Alco Fan. Most of the Ideal Buildings came in sets. They were made Late 1940s to early 1960s. Here is one of the sets along with Parts of others. I have a catalog somewhere. Have not found it yet. but, These pictures should help with Info. Look at the picture on the bottom of the station you will see the other parts of the set.. I have some more buildings just could not put my hands on them. Carl

Carl, What a great collection. Nicely pictured too. Thanks for sharing and I'll be interested to see what the catalog says. I think my Cape Cod came built from the factory. I bought the box of buildings and hadn't taken stock of what was actually in there until about a week after I brought it home. Interesting that the Cape Cod on the Gilbert site has the number 35252 and mine says B252
