Hi!
I'm setting up a new layout and was interested in doing a small pond (Have two parallel rail bridges on one side of it. Any pointers on doing the banks and botton? i hear coffee grounds are good for that.. is that the best? Would also like to do some tall grasses to one side.. any thoughts on what i could use.. a friend of mine suggested dyeing paint brush bristles.. What color do you think would be best to paint the bottom? I'm also planning on using envirotex liquid epoxy for the 'water' do you think dropping some coloring into it would be a good idea (what color?)..
Sorry for all of the quesitons but I'm new to this an dnot alot of money to make and remake because of mistakes :-)
Appreciate you advice!!!
thx mike

First and foremost make sure that the bottom and sides of the pond are water tight. It is not fun watching the "water" slowly disappear. It is also not a bad idea to build a test pond to try out your ideas.
There are lots of discussion groups and everyone of them will have something somewhere about doing water. This is one aspect of scenery where you can take advice from almost every scale - in terms of materials, creation and so on.
Also remember - water is not really blue... so good luck and have some fun.
Cheers Bill
