Greenberg trainshow was in town today. Oddly enough I didn't buy nearly as much stuff as I did last time. However I did begin building the "beer fleet" that will round out my rolling stock roster (honestly I have way to much for a guy without his own layout).
Still trying to figure out this one. It has a metal underframe, and the lines you see under it are actual black thread. A pretty nice piece though!

Nice car Mike, I have the same one. Thought I'd throw in a pair of Athearns. Picked these up from Greenway Products.

I've been keeping my eyes open for a Hull's Beer (since I focus on New Haven).I like the one by Show Me Lines more than Greenway's. I know I can just order one, but it's more fun to hunt for it. For a while, anyway, then I'll probably just break down and order one.

Might as well toss the 2nd "beer fleet" car into the mix. There is a 3rd I picked up, but its a wine car it can be shown next week hehe.
I'd really like to know who made this one. I just discovered that all 4 ice hatches on top can open up! However most all the steps have been broken off so I'll have to deal with that sometime.

Hi Chris . That looks like a Train Miniature Model. They made a series of beer cars.

Trainminature made three different Schlitz beer cars. Walters aquires the dies and made many more cars with great new paint skeems, and older Trainminature paint skeems with new numbers.

Hey Ken, How could you possibly call the boxcar mint, if someone worked it over with Krylon before you got it? Ha!

I'm a little late to the party, but I brought this:

It's an Athearn kit I picked up at the end of the 90's, just before I packed everything away for awhile.
I've always intended to create a "beer fleet" but it seems like the prices stay a little higher than other "themes." Still looking for a PBR car, because I'm a fan of the prototype, so to speak....but no, I'm not a hip young college kid.

We have a guy at the club with 132 different beer cars in his train...even though he can only run about half of them at any one time, it's still quite a sight as it goes around the layout.
