Hi Guys
This loco has a sound DCC decoder,it keeps on shutting down just as you open the throttle.
The first thing I found is the front wheel set on the back engine is not sitting on the track,I have added extra lead weight, this has helped but not fixed the problem.
The other thing I noticed is a brief short is happening when testing with my multi meter between the isolated wheels and the wheels that pick up the power, what can I do to fix this. And is there a way to add extra picks as only 6 out of the 12 wheels pick up power 3 drivers at the front one side and three drivers on the other side at the back and the pony trucks do not pick up at all.
any help would be great as I do like the look of this type of loco.
regards,
Hutch.
Ps the loco is new and has a can motor, and flywheel.

Hi Brian, and welcome. Have you checked that the axle bearings are properly seated, and that the axle cover is tightened securely? TankedEngine just posted here (http://www.tycoforums.com/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7884) about a dimple in the cover that left a gap between it and the frame. Another thing to check is that the flexible silicon shaft between the sets of drivers isn't causing the rear engine to lift.

As for the momentary short, check for sparking between the side rods and the insulated driver rims. If they're rubbing, the side rods can be bent outward just slightly so that they won't touch them.

Just a few thoughts.
