I got a sharkknose , Midnight Special, and the darn thang won't run! I cleaned all elec. contacts and no uck! The motor got scalding hot, but, didn't even run. Suggestions? Maybe just a another whole motor?

I think you're probably correct that the motor is needs replaces. Sorry!

Sounds like a great candidate to be repowered. Check out the threads about repowering with cd and ps2 tray motors.

I'm assuming PT power, yes?

Can you take the power truck out and spin the reduction gear on the armature shaft? Do the wheels rotate when you do? I'm looking for someting binding mechanically or conversely slipping.

Maybe not electrical...
