Ken, 4 of the 5 TM alcos that I have, have the Athearn drivr as shown in the diagram. One (a B unit) has a frame like yours. but it is unpowered. They must have used chassis from Japan for awhile but I don't know which was first. I can't find a date printed on the box. How does that drive run?

Hi Ken. What you have is the early TM Drive Made in Tokyo Japan. Late 1950s. Later they switched to Athearn Drive. I have a pair of NYC Lightning Stripes. Carl

I have only runned the powered unit on a long test track, it runs good. Probably would be smoother with some Flywheels added. Would have to change the weights.. Carl

| I belive the Walthers FA/B-1 shell is a copy of the TM. But the Walthers does come with a great running mechanism. And it weighs a ton. Plenty of power and traction. You may want to consider the Walthers loco instead.
