Put out by IHC in the early 90s, the basic set (#401 Corkey's Train) that I own came with no track or power pack. It included a 24" x 36" backdrop depicting a carnival and 6 clown figures...

...this one has a track cleaning pad I installed...

...the metal wheelsets are Intermountain's, a drop-in fit.
Set #400, Corkey's Flyer, included a Ferris Wheel kit, power pack and track oval. Set #410, Corkey's Carney, added to that a Ferris Wheel kit, Carousel kit and 3 concession stands. Set #420, King Corkey, added to that a large figure 8 of track, a Spider boxcar, Swinger and Sky Wheel kits, 9 more concession stands AND an operating crossing gate...whew...

Hi shaygetz,
Nice set you have there. I have the same set you have but I don't have the Backdrop or clowns. I see you changed out the wheel sets. What Mfr. did you use for replacements?
Thanks Mike

Thanks for posting - I appreciate it! I definitely learned a lot about this set. I've wanted a circus / carnival consist and this is GREAT!
These appear to be plentiful enough so at least I can FIND this after the first of the year. Is there any appreciable difference in the IHC vs. Mehano set other than the boxes?
There also is a dummy engine - M375 and M376 both have road #711. The M375 is the dummy engine. Not that I've researched this AT ALL since I saw shaygetz' post....
I definitely want the #420 set! Thanks for posting this - yet another set on the wantlist!

I've since given my son the backdrop for his toy car shelf and tossed the box, it was in pretty bad shape. The set was missing the clowns as well--no loss, they wre pretty ugly as I recall The wheelsets are by Intermountain.

You're welcome...I don't know of any major differences, the loco runs just fine. I didn't know they had offered a dummy loco but I do know at one point they offered a couple other boxcars separately.

The loco is a model of a Fairbanks Morse 4 axle C-Liner, first put out by AHM, then picked up by IHC. It runs quite well.

I just picked up one of these, new in the box, at a local train show (in Plano, Tx). The dealer had several. He did make sure that I understood that the package did not include track and power supply.
Cheers Bill
