Thanks to a shell from Adams and a mechanism from Gareth and some technical advise from Ray...
...my Lionel AFT FA unit...

...runs nice and goes real well with the Bachmann cars. My two AFT cars don't like 14" radius curves...

| It was a minor fix, I just used a couple of small screws run through the sideframes from one end to hold them in place. Little booger runs quite well...many thanks.

Here's that Bachmann 2-6-0; On30 scale. I find some Christmas themed trains to be a bit over the top, but I like this one quite a bit.

This locomotive is part of a Thomas Kinkade train set, which was fairly popular when it was released. My aunt got the set in 2002, and said I could have it for Christmas. However, she only said "an old train set" to me before Christmas, so I had crazy ideas of a Lionel, or possibly Marx set coming my way. This is still very nice though!

The locomotive has some nice details, but the tender leaves A LOT to be desired. The passenger cars that came with the set are pretty nice though, they are lighted and have beautiful artwork on the sides. I really like the details inside the locomotive cab, which I tried to capture here (I didn't do so well ):

This week I'm going to show a locomotive that I've had for many years. This was my third locomotive ever, and after two Life-Likes I considered this to be the first "real" one. It's an Athearn GP50 that I got for Christmas back in Junior High:

I always loved it because it reminded me of the trains that used to run just down the street. Sadly, the tracks are long gone and I have to drive half an hour or more to see running trains.
Happy New Year!

This one doesn't venture out of it's box too often, so I figured as long as it's out I might as well throw a pic up.

| Seriously cool c630, Mike, and an excellent photo to prove it. If Micronauts ever drove trains, this would undoubtedly be their chosen motive power!
