Christmas train was ran shortly as problems arose. The layout was DCC and my engine was not. It did run but the layout had automatic reverse loops which required constant following of train. The train kept coming uncoupled on the boxcars also - coupler height difference - cars are being -re-worked. On a positive note - The Christmas train was a SUCCESS. Many pictures were taken and tons of questions. The crowds were heavy which wore all of us down. The train problems are being fixed as they are wanting to run it due to excellent responses from the show visitors. Here is some video of layout and the train running along with other trains. No music to this. Couldn't get my cd drive to work to upload some music. Enjoy. Another video hopefully on the train by this weekend on layout
UPDATE 11-17-09 - All cars have been repaired and coupler problem fixed.

Ken / Alco Fan / Microbuss -- Thanks for comments. MB - that is a street running trolley line with auto reverse circuit. I didn't get much video of Christmas train as i had to follow and yell for someone to throw reverse switch to keep running forward. I need a decoder that auto switches to DCC or DC. I am not DCC impaired - i do know they make those decoders but don't know who sells them - Brian

DaCheez / LoopnHook - Thank you. Appreciate all comments. I am anxious to get train repaired which i am working on now to get back on those tracks. When the Christmas train was spotted - Some visitors were like kids on Christmas morning - I will try to get video on saturday of reactions if i can. While it wasn't running -it was parked on a siding in video for everyone to see as they entered the layout exhibit. This is the 42nd year of the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte -- My best description of show is like scene from movie Polar Express in Santa's City - Walknig streets of Tons of Christmas vendors. The inside of bldg is set up like a Christmas Village

Brian, Check out Digitrax decoders. I have used many of them, they have the DC/DCC detection ability. Also CV 29 can be programmed to accept DC of DCC, or both. Here's a bit of info on this. Tom http://www.digitrax.com/kb/index.php?a=718

Working on second video right now. Went back to show on sat Nov 21st and Christmas train was ran non stop for 5 hrs! Took it off tracks to let it cool down. The crowds were Enormous. Video will show people snapping pictures and following train trying to get pics of it. Will see lots of kids reactions too which made it even better and adults too. Some train cars are not in video as they had to be re worked again. A club member took all of my cars and weighted them and repaired them again at show near end - Many Thanks too him!. The train will next be ran at Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont NC. Will Upload link shortly to new video
