I picked a Pair of PRRT1s a while Back. They were in bad shape. Here is the Before and after Pictures of the pair. Both have Dual drive and dual motors. One has a sheet Brass Teneder and the other has a Sheet metal type.. Carl

I love them and I'll be on the lookout for one. How long since Bowser stopped making theirs? These are Bowser's ?

Hi Alco Fan. Penn line was the original maker of the The T-1 back in the late 1940's. Bowser in the early 1960's purchased all of Penn line plans and molds to all of there steam engines. Bowser on and off over the years has remade the T-1 along with other Penn Line engines. Now with Bowser no longer making Steam engines. These will still be highly sort after. Here is a picture of a Penn Line T-1 Kit circa 1949. Carl

| VintageHO you wouldn't happen to have a spare set of front truck frames would you? Mine is missing its front frames and its kind of odd looking without them. Mine is kind of a mutt after looking at yours, but looking at other T1's people owned they seem like they clean up real easy. Any plans to paint yours or are you just going to leave them? How did you strip them down? Since I might go and redo mine to get the rest of that red color off.

That is a great job...I really hope I find a Penn Line loco of my own sometime. I'm still amazed at how well those cleaned up.
Will a modern loco be able to shine this bright in 60 years? I don't imagine.

Just was at Bowser's website They just listed that they have PRR T-1 Duplex Kits for sell, for a mere $200.00. These Kits have the diecast Tender not the Sheet Metal type. They also are selling the Conversions drive Kits for the Lionel / Bachmann GS-4 & Niagara Steam Engines. Carl

Anyone want a Bowser Deluxe T1 kit? Buddy of mine on the Diesel Detailer and Atlas boards wants to get rid of his for $60 bucks.
http://rudystrains.com/forsalelocomotives.aspx
Deluxe Pennsylvania T1 Kit - $60 All-metal kit that I purchased about five years ago. It is Bowsers "deluxe" kit, meaning it includes a full set of decals and all of the superdetailing parts. I began working on it at that time, and assembled the front set of drivers and motor. (Yes, this locomotive does have two can motors, one for each set of drivers.) The front set of drivers do operate. I then began work on the rear set of drivers, then got sidetracked and boxed everything up. The box has collected dust for the past five years and it needs a good home where it might get finished some time this century. The kit is complete, including instructions, decals, and all parts, and was checked against the parts diagram and instructions. All of the parts that were taken out of their original bags have been placed in Ziploc baggies for safekeeping, and it appears that they are bagged in an organized manner in accordance with the instructions. Asking $60 for this locomotive, which was purchased new for ~$120 (on sale for half of the list price). These are no longer available, as Bowser is no longer producing steam locomotive kits.
