Railfair, held at Algonquin College every October, doesn't generally attract many second-hand dealers. Instead they have one big table set up filled with consignment items (from people working at the show I assume ). All scales mixed together, and alot of European items. There's always a huge crowd around the table...you literally have to crowd up behind people and then wait for a gap to appear. Not ideal train hunting conditions
Despite all this, I did manage to get my hands on some nice peices. I found a boxed Tyco dual-lighted Amtrak streamliner from the early 70's and an unboxed Rivarossi NP dome car. I also bought these:
Rivarossi/AHM UP E8 and matching streamliner.
This next piece is neat. It's a custom NYC E8 double cab, also with a matching passenger car.

I went to this show hoping to find trains and parts to complete broken engines and unfinished sets. Instead I now have passenger cars in three new schemes. Ah well

Yeah that double-cab is a really neat piece. Although I could see it in Great Northern colours rather than NYC.

Whoever kitbashed the NYC double cab did an amazing job. These are my first two Rivarossi engines, and I'm very pleased with how well they run I still wish I could've found some Tyco parts though

Hmmm... I guess the "X" is supposed to stand for "experimental?"
Cheez, is it equipped with one powered truck, or two? I notice no light is visible through the portholes at either end.

I think the X usually means a piece of rolling stock/engine is over a certain age and can't leave home track. In this case though, it could mean experimental I hadn't thought of that.
Just one power truck. I haven't opened it up, but as far as I can tell everything down there is stock. As for the portholes being blacked out, I think that's just the angle of the photo. If I hold the engine up I can look in one side and out the other.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
