This is what happens when kit molds are sold off as model companies go under - probably started out as a Pola El Camino. Faller and Kibri each looked at purchasing the molds, but it wasn't German enough. Even when they painted it red, applied Iron Cross decals to it, and tried to pass the kit off as "The Red Baron's Ride." The kit languished for awhile hidden in a broom closet until AHM unfortunately won the molds when Pola executives threw them into the pot during a late night off-shore poker game ... AHM made the doors wider to appeal to model builders who wore 2X and 3X T-Shirts. Soon afterward, AHM then modified it for TYCO and promoted it as a Police Cruiser by giving it a Police Push Bumper. IHC then got the molds by mistake one Christmas in a box that also had the molds for the "3 Houses Under Construction" kit and combined it with a Monogram Half-Track kit ... just because they could and because everyone at IHC had partaken a wee bit too much Egg Nog at the annual IHC office Christmas Party. Model Power then found the molds in the dumpster behind IHC's office when they closed and decided they could save even more production costs by losing the window glazing and front tires ... replacing them with a bunch of spare steam roller kit parts nobody wanted (which was costing them inventory space). And just for the heck of it, they stuck an Anti-Aircraft gun flatcar load on it. Finally, Athearn and Horizon Hobby had industrial model railroading spies steal the mold for ransom from Model Power. When Model Power laughed, refused to pay, and said "good riddance" ... Athearn decided to make it available only as an RTR item, pre-weathered, and sell it as a "Walthers Exclusive" which would never be in stock.
