I am used to the P-265-040-0070 style of parts # that shows up in HO Seeker's catalogs.

I am now seeing more & more through Ebay, #'s such as R27907 [Front Truck] & am having difficulty identifying which Rivarossi model they are for.
Are the 'R' #'s from more recent models?
Is there an online reference anywhere?
Thanks
Tanked

You're right about the more recent part numbers, which begin with an R or a P (there may be a few other letters as well). That numbering system started in the 90's, or the red box era, after Rivarossi parted company with AHM and began selling under their own name.

I don't know of any reference guide with a list of the newer numbers, just the exploded diagrams that came with the locos themselves. I have the parts lists for the Big Boy and Allegheny, but nothing else.

The particular lead truck you're looking at is for the old-timer 4-4-0's, which were the Reno and the Inyo.

Okay, thanks Nelson. I guessed the 4-4-0 by the shape.
Finding a global reference system would be handy.
