I am putting together a 4-6-0 CJ from the bits bins & lack the above parts.

They are in the P-265, 120, 121, 126 part # series.

They don't seem to be coming through on Ebay & I was wondering whether the 4-6-2 or other 6 wheel config. use any of the same above parts as the CJ?

I have checked HOSeeker but can't find a parts # list for the 4-6-2 to be able to check if they have the same part #'s as the CJ.

Any clarificatiion or pointing towards the parts I am looking for would be appreciated.

The only parts that will interchange will be crank pins and spacers.
The rods and wheels a unique to the Casey Jones.
I was lucky enough to be able to repair a couple of broken wheels to get one running.
I have another one for parts but all the same pieces (plus a few more) are missing.

Thanks Ray
I don't know what happens to all the wheels then - shells can be found, but not the drive stuff!.

The wheels are very weak, Once the plastic starts shrinking the wheels break loose from the axles or the spokes break out.
There has to be rods laying around in someone's part box but I can't find them.
I still need to find a truck for the tender for mine.
Before I repaired the wheels on mine, I was looking for other wheels that would fit.
I didn't find anything but didn't check locos like the IHC Moguls or 4-4-0 locos

The AHM/IHC guys I know say that the Casey Jones drivers are the hardest to find, followed by the FEF-3 and the Pacific. The larger the drivers, the more torque and strain at the hub, and Rivarossi's styrene wasn't the strongest. I think a lot of owners were less than careful with them, as I've never had any give out on me.

I bought an FEF-3 years ago that had been really mistreated, with two sets of drivers that were loose on their axles. The geared wheels had been ground out by the previous owner running the loco with the drivers loose, so it took a lot of work to rebuild them and make sure they were quartered and trued.

* Side rods on this loco are in two pieces. They are of different lengths due to the larger space between the center and rear axil. They are round on one end the center, and sqoare on the other, the outsides. I have no idea what the numbers are and you don't say what parts go with your numbers. Their are two each, front side rods, rear side rods and main rods. If you have a few of these locos you should consider using this for a parts loco. Things get droped and break.

uh, did you know that same locomotive was rebuilt three (3) times?
And, upon those three times, each consecutive locomotive engineers were killed.
The last rebuild was to only restore it to museum/static display quality.
And, there was never a true picture of Casey Jones (John Luther Jones) in the 382. He is pictured in another locomotive running as the Canon Ball.

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
