I was running some of my C430s today when I noticed a spotting feature that I don't think we've mentioned before on the Mantua Tycos. The horns on the Mantua C430s are spaced so that the closed end of one horn is at about half way down the length of the other. The Tyco PT powered C430s are just slightly angled from each other. I had posted some thing like this about the Mehano, Model Power and Pemco C430s but never payed attention to the Mantua Tycos.
I also noticed that, and most of my engines C430s are used, Some horns seem to be pointed different directions than other examples.

If you look at this page you'll see some examples. I'm sure there are reasons why this happened.

Had you noticed the horn differences before. Not earth shattering, just different. I think it can be seen in the link page.

I never paid close enough attention to the horns to notice any differences. That of course doesn't mean there aren't at least 4 variations as per "Tyco Standards", the phrase that defines paradox. To my recollection all of the Tyco 430's I've seen have the holes for the horns in square (close to it) pattern on the roof. I do not believe there is any offset in the front to back alignment of those holes. Now, are there different horns? Possibly the pegs on different molds of horns are indeed offset and you are noticing the result of that.
I'll check into that this weekend.

I never noticed the horn differences either. I've had to swap and replace horns a fair bit and they always seemed to fit, so it may be just the hole locations (which I never noticed), or maybe I was just always lucky to randomly have the right horns (not likely!).
If they are different, the changes probably coincided with the numberboard fill-ins and other modifications. I'll have to look at mine sometime.
