Hey All,
Mike, I like those CP cars! I have alot of Tyco Amtrak cars but no Tyco Amtrak F unit to go with them. But on the other hand I have a PC F unit with no cars to go with that LOL.
Here is my car of the week. My wife and I picked up this Tyco Western Union car a while back at an antique store. It's a first for me.
Thanks for looking. Mike

I thought of microbusss when I picked this. It's originally all vintage Bachmann, 25 years plus, but changed to P2K wheels and body mounted KDs, with original trucks. My girlfriend, now wife, bought this for me one Christmas.

Nice LL SF car. I just remembered I have two of those (one glossy and one dull) packed away. I should dig them out and compare to this one:

Tyco redbox version. It's impeccably painted, probably one of my favorites! Found this one languishing with a broken truck in the back of the Golden Spike in Chicago last time I was there. Had probably been there since the day it arrived from the factory. Too pretty to leave abandoned, I had to rescue it.

That's a really nice boxcar, GIC. A nicer shade of red than my Life-Like is. Just realized the doors are on upside down on mine, too...oh well, gotta love life-like it's still one of the prettiest boxcars I own. It's definitely "making the cut" for my switching layout equipment.

I'm likin' those Santa Fe cars guys.
Here's mine, special thanks to GIC for sending it! It's made by Walthers sometime in the late '50s or '60s, they made two versions of these tiny passenger cars, called Oscar and Piker. I don't know too much else about it.

It's got superb details, like sprung trucks, working diaphragms and a very nice paper interior.

It needs a bit of TLC, but not a bad place to start. The roof is missing, but it'll be a fun project to build a new one. It matches my Santa Fe doodlebug very nicely, probably because they are both ancient Walthers kits!
