Hello All, I just took this photo, and figured I'd go ahead and submit it to CotW. It's my set of Tyco Santa Fe lighted coaches (and a steamer to haul them!). I just can't bring myself to taking them out of the boxes and putting them on the layout! (I'm sure a common dilemma among us)

Beautiful set Adams. This is my Tyco Burlington streamliner. I bought it off ebay last year for $10. The cars are in good shape but the engine is missing alot of pieces...I'm working on it though.[:)] Hopefully in a month of two I'll be able to post it in LotW[:D]

Nice cars, DC. One thing I have considered doing if I ever come upon an inexpensive set of Burlington cars is to remove the lettering, and use decals for Rock Island, Santa Fe, etc. The lettering comes off easily with rubbing alcohal. I won't be fooling with my Santa Fe set, though!

Hey Adams,
Unlike yourself,I have no problem pulling out a brand new never run train and running it.[;)]
That's what they're made for.

I say that's a "Car" of cars if I ever did see one!

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

I have these exact same cars, but they don't have the original boxes, and don't have a Santa fe locomotive to pull them.

Here is a similar set from a Ft Worth train show in 2008 plus some from an estate sale in 2009, also in Ft Worth.

These need some work ...

Last week I picked up these earlier generation Santa Fe passenger cars at a Dallas estate sale:

So there was a local train show that I finally managed to catch today. Was mostly for O gauge, but there was some HO stuff here and there. Found some guy getting rid of a large collection of rolling stock. Got 4 cars for $17.50 not too bad for my first outing!

AHM boxcar which is missing a door so I got it for a buck lol. If I find a nicer one than this in the BAR scheme I might make this one a MOW shed or something.

Athearn tank car. I currently don't own any tank cars, and when I saw the Firestone on the side the car guy in me wanted it.

Athearn centerflow hopper. Another car type I didn't own yet. Just sorta looked nice, though it has a few small bumps & bruises.

Walthers airslide hopper. Again, didn't own one but I do now haha. Looks really nice, trucks are a little tight so I gotta work on that. But kadee's drop right into it so I gotta pick up a few more of those.

Saw a small group of Tyco engines, but they were mostly F7's or GP20's in either Sante Fe or UP schemes so they really didn't interest me much. I saw a Chattanooga steamer I shouldn't have maybe passed on, but it looked really rough. I'm still in the hunt for a sharknose!

Umm, don't mean to ruin the fun here guys, but am I the only one who's noticed this CotW thread is from July of 2008?

Nice cars anyway. I like your boxcar that carries "procts", Chris.
