Here is a Big Boy I bought used at a train show in Toronto, when I could barely afford it in the late 70's early '80's. It is an AHM/Rivarrosi.
Dreamt about owing a Big Boy since seeing a prototype pic in Linn Wescott's "HO Primer" book in the '60's...

4012 is on display at Steamtown. I think Rivarossi numbered most of them as 4005, as they seem to be the most common. My first Big Boy was a 4005.
Interesting side note: I never knew there was a major wreck with a Big Boy.

Nice Mike, I am looking for a Big Boy. Here's a Broadway Limited Mikado I picked up recently.

Nice GN Mikado, Eaglerock. I just finished doing some work on a Rivarossi version myself.

Very nice engines everyone...
I guess it must be steam week, or the diesel gang are on summer vacation...

I'd never guess Ray's Mikado was a Mantua from the front. Nice scratchbuilt pilot, and fancy plumbing work as well.

The prototype for #42 is John Allen's #42 Mantua Mikado.

Nice Mikes guys...
Here's my Big Boy, also number 4005. It was a basketcase that took some time to get back together. The tender is off of a later Rivarossi Challenger but renumbered to match...weathering brought old and new back together.
