The easiest source of rolling stock for my new pannier tank I knew before I got it would be Bachmann's Thomas the Tank Engine line (Pretty cheap from Hobby Lobby if you use their 40% off coupons). They come with metal wheels and look to be cheap versions of Bachmann's British line. They also weather and detail up quite nicely:

The "guard" is a Bachmann conductor figure I altered the arm position on and painted in a "company uniform blue" color. I blackened in the handrails and bay windows with a sharpie, then added some dirt with acrylic paint.

The engine is staying clean and polished, but I couldn't leave it as a runaway:

I left the bases on the figures in the cab to make them taller, closer to OO scale height.

Here's a couple of the freight cars, with an open wagon I added the fictitious North Western Railway (the name of Thomas' line in the original Railway Series books) lettering to, with cut-out paper letters:

I tried to get the deck of the flat car to look like some boards were newer than others.

Pics of others soon as I get track laid on the switching/shunting layout!

I used to love Thomas the Tank Engine as a kid...funny to see him still pop up every now and then. I watched Shining Time Station every day, of course at the time I didn't realize it had celebrities like George Carlin and Ringo Starr on it!

Anyway, very nice work. I really like the flat car, the different "age" of the boards is a real nice touch. You've got a nice British theme going, I'm loving all of your work so far! Keep it up!
