I'm having fun posting my project pictures now that I learned how to make the computer cooperate. I think I have the correct pictures for this project. Here is a photo of bead blasting an SD35 shell. Notice the Santa Fe letters under the first coat of paint.

Here it is after repaint.

Had a little trouble getting this photo converted for some reason. Then I got a script timed out message. Well here it is. Again, notice the Santa Fe letters. I like doing this kind of modeling.

It would be neat to make up a railroad name and logo, then apply it over the shell at that point. Make it look like a real ragged and poorly funded shortline or something neat like that.
Nice work on the new paint though, it looks very smooth, shiny and nice.

The white stripe and gold line are one decal. I only painted that loco. My brother put down the decal. He said it was not difficult. He is attempting to model at least one of every type of diesel that Southern owned in the tuxedo scheme, with a few exceptions.

| The decals are MicroScale, no. 87-32, the letters and heralds. They make just a stripe set of decals. Don't know the number. A decent train hobby shop will have them or you can order from Walthers. The shell isn't quite finished but, I will post more pictures.

| No recent photos, yet. I've got so many projects going. HO trains and other things. The loco came high hood. I think it is an IHC unit.

| boo-boo on posting the photos. These are two different units. The yellow diesel shell is a GP38. The black Southern diesel is an IHC SD35. It came as a low nose. That's a Cannon&Company high nose conversion. I'm not sure if I have a pre-conversion photo. Maybe I'll post a completed full length photo of it soon.

The high hood engines look better (to me) than the short noses. If I would buy a diesel it has to be a high hood, and let it pull a train with the longer hood in front! - Erich
