I noticed that the Durango Geep in the Hoseeker '76 Tyco catalog has Alco trucks. They are also like the transitional Alco trucks with 3 leaf springs in the middle of the side frame like the Gen II Alcos have. I know that this engine was probably never released like this but it's still an interesting point if you are a Tyco enthusiast/collector. This could mean that this Gp prototype was powered by the same early power torque that was in the Gen II Mantua Tyco Alcos Check it out. This topic is mentioned on theGP20 page in the Tyco Collectors Resource Site. http://www.hoseeker.org/tycoinformation/tycocatalog1976pg02.jpg http://www.ho-scaletrains.net/tycobrownboxdiesels/id13.html

Never saw an GP20 with AAR trucks. Musta been a blooper!Probaly the first year of the Durango set, had an prepot shell, and had no time to ad the right trucks, and probaly grabbed those from an random bag of parts! Southern did have GP35's with those AAR trucks. Now ya mention it, Lionel's GP's had AAR trucks! The postwar models that were not supplied by Athearn.
