Hey Guys, I have a CN 430 with PT drive, and have a question. Were these locos ever made without handrails? I have one that looks like handrails were never installed.

There are super-knowledgable guys here that will give a better answer than me, but I believe that Tyco did give up putting handrails on some of their locos in the later years.

On most (if not all) of their diesels, Tyco didn't install handrails in the factory. They included a handrail set that the buyer had to put on. And, as Admas said, Tyco stopped including handrails in the later part of the brown box era. So it's possible that your engine came with handrails and the owner just didn't install them. It's also possible that it never came with handrails in the first place.

While on the subject of handrails, does anyone know of a source for any? Or do you make your own?
