I have 3 of those that I have stripped and ready to build. One is going to be converted to a low nose C630. I also want to build a hi hood C630 with the Athearn FM trucks. I have a few RS3 projects also. An old MDC that I need trucks for, a couple Atlas shells, a plastic Hobbytown and a Stewart shell. I also have a Mehano RS2 and C415 to do. Guess I need to get to work.

I have a low nose 630 Tyco I've converted but not painted and the high hood went on a 430 to become a 425 looking Mantua Tyco shell. One RS2 with the Hammerhead added and several RS11s that havwe only been fiddled with. I had to repower an RS11. Last eve I put the running gear of a GP20 into a So76 shell. It had Alco frames on the power truck but EMD on the rear that I think I'll switch and restore a bit. "When you say Alco, you've said American!"

Here's a pic of the 430 shell. I think some modelers cut the whole cab and nose. I sliced off the front of the cab. I taped it to give me a guide line. I'm currently stalled on this project. I'm trying to make it look more like a 425. I moved the trucks inward for a more proto appearance. The shell is too long for a C425 but I think it's close enough with some other changes.

| My low nosed C630 is waiting for an opening in the paint shop. I've been working on a hi-nosed C628 ala C&NW. And I'm ready to start an RSD-12. Not that any will get done soon. The paint shop is booked solid to at least December!

Took a shot today just for this thread. To bad the head on shot came out blurry.
Left to right. Atlas C424 PRR Tyco C630 NW Atlas RS-1 PRR Last two are Atlas RS-3's in PRR with sequential road numbers.
The Tyco & RS-3 twins are mine, others are my friends. All the Atlas ones are Kato drives and run like you wouldn't believe. The Tyco runs if you believe it can lol

You know Mike, that's what this looked like originally!

I've since put in windows made of wax paper so they look frosted and old.

As usual I can't take credit for doing that. Mine is a cheap knock off compared to Tonys! http://www.tycoforums.com/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=716
I just did mine because I had the paint & NW decals laying around, I figured why not haha.

Here is a project for those of you who have one of those old Model Power C628 in demo colors. Especially if the paint is already toast.
The photo caption says: "Still wearing Alco demonstrator colors, but with Southern Pacific markings and road number, 4871 is seen at Milpitas, Calif., on August 20, 1965."

| I'm waiting for someone to start a all inclusive F-unit thread. Right now we have at least 6 or 7 different roadnames and way to many units hanging around lol. They are my next roundtable shot, but I think I need to get the wide angle lens to fit them all in.

Well, here's my only other Alco other than the beat up RS-2 I have. My Athearn PA. /tyco/forum/uploaded/MM 1498/IMG_1693.jpg
EDIT:After checking this post over for spelling mistakes, etc., I realized just how much I love that shot. I was using the Foliage preset on my camera, so I guess that's why it appears so soft and warm.
Oh, and here's what the windows on the RS-2 look like now. /tyco/forum/uploaded/MM 1498/IMG_1690.jpg
By the way Chris, there is an F-unit thread already: http://www.tycoforums.com/tyco/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7074

True Matt, but all of our F-units are non-Tyco and Mantra so I wasn't going to start crashing the party with some of the P2K and Athern Gensis units Though my life-like Chessie still makes the cut

This is a custom painted Canadiana C430 Alco. It is a former red box SF shell and MU2 power from a GP20. Just finished minutes before it was posted. I should have used a red box in the background instead of a brown one.
