the Gen II locos that I posted last week. I'm betting many have the So76 Spirit of '76 version with the Screw-in Mantua Tyco tank, Power Torque motor and the filled rear number boards. This Generation II, Gen II, would be a version of the Alco 430 that was produced next after the MU2 motored Alco 430 and the before the snap in Tyco tanked version of the 430 then finally replaced for good by a Mehano version in the end of the company.

Oops-now that I look at it, I'm pretty sure it's not. I think the nose is too long.

Sorry, that's a GP 20. I'm asking about the Alcos with 4301 road numbers on the sides of the cab. I'm not aware there were any Gen II GPs. The 4301 Alco Gen IIs have been found in SF, SOO, Chessie and Spirit of '76 paint schemes.

Dorptrains, You could have something different. Post a picture of the bottom of the loco. I think there are variations of the EMD truck frames.

That's the standard truck cover, for lack of a better name, that Tyco used to hold the silver side frames on GPs, Alcos, SD24s, Sharks, F units, GG1s, E8s Super 630s and others till the end of Tyco before Tyco engines were replaced in train sets. It's probably the most common truck cover and most of my stuff uses it. That's still a sharp engine and it has handrails which a lot of my stuff is missing!

Thanks, this is only my second train engine, first Tyco. Got it from ebay, it looks nice and runs great. Hopefully I will find a few more and expand my collection.
