Excellent Find! Always wondered if this version was out there. Any chance you could provide a picture that I could use on the TYCO Resource?
A couple sheets of printer paper arranged behind the model gives me a good solid white background. Here's an example of a shot I did with this ICG sitting on a sheet of rolled white posterboard...

Biggest note: it has a full set of nose grabs; whereas the IC version had that odd depression to fit the circular logo sticker.
Great find!!!

Hi Tony:
I would be thrilled to contribute photo's. I'll get my pal who has a real Digital camera to shoot it with a back drop. Did you notice it has kadee's? It's in lovely condition. I'm definitely going to build a So76 on a Stewart Chassis! I'll try to send photos of my ICG Phase 2. It has nose rungs excepting where the "I" decal is.
Just a reminder I really would like to add an Athearn Hustler page in the future. I need to aquire a geared Lionel and the Lionel center cab Erie 0545 center cab variation, oops anc the Cary Box cab version.

Are you talking about building the So76 from the one one ebay now the P=1 or are you doing it to the SF? Both of those should be left alone, you know , for the cause! Gotta love the War Bonnet!

Whoa:
Wouldn't touch a Phase 1, You kidding me! Nope I'll be looking for a Non-Running So76 to use. I have a Phase 2 ICG here, But even it is too tidy for a Kitbash job. Repower possibly but no cutting!
Gonna append my will that if I die my P1 SF 630 Goes to Tony C. for the Tyco Museum! -G.

I think there's a So 76 C-630 listed now on the bay but not sure where.

Hi Walt, The 630 pretty much has the same PT drive as the 4 axle locos. The six axles do seem to pick up current more reliably though. I have a boxed Spirit of 76 that was unused. I unboxed it, took off the axle covers, and cleaned and re-lubed the axles (just a little!). I also put some new grease on the gears and a bit of oil on the motor shaft ends. It runs perfectly.

Yes Adams, I have to agree. They do run very nice. I had a similar experience as you (mine was a SF though from the last release) but as a test I did`nt do anything to it. At first it hesitated and I had to help it along alittle bit but after 3 or 4 good runs around a loop of track it was as good if not better than any Life-Like or Bachmann locomotive I ever bought. Take in mind that not all are like this though. I have had some that are froze solid. C630`s is my favorite TYCO locomotive as well and I too wanted some since the early 80`s. The first time I saw them was in Chessie System`s safety express passenger car. They had a small diaorama set up in a enclosed case and it had 3 Chessie System C630`s leading a train. From that moment I knew what needed to happen. I have several in my collection now.
