Hi, I have a question on how to fix a broken Life Like loco. I own the tyco coal unloading trestle, and the Life Like loco didn't have enough clearance on the bottom of the truck to make it over the unloading "gate". I tried to shave a little of the extra plastic off of the loco, but ended up going too far and breaking some teeth off of one of the gears inside (i was shaving down the truck that has the motor on it) . It runs ok, but it makes a clicking sound and sometimes it just stops, and I have to manually push it to get it to go again. It doesn't run very well in reverse, either. I ended up just buying a tyco loco that is compatible with the unloading gate, but I am wondering if it is even possible to fix the life like loco without buying a whole new truck. I guess its not that big of a deal if I can find a new truck that works with my kind of locomotive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
-Jacob

Sounds like you broke one or more teeth off of one of the gears. Your best bet is to scrap the gears out of another Life-Like, but in my opinion you should just go with the Tyco loco. It will be compatible with your unloader, plus if it has an MU-2 motor it will most likely run better than the Life-Like drive you described.
