hey Guys:

Just wanted to take a moment to tell all you fella's on the forum how much you've meant to me over the last couple of years.

In the beginning this forum at times literally kept me afloat and for each of you that I interacted with I'm grateful.

I hope to stick around, however my best friend has become involved with some very unsavoury and dangerous people, and I decided to step in to help protect him. He is a 69 year old Catholic Priest who was trying to be chariatble and it has gone horribly array. These people now have decided that I must be gotten rid of so I can not influenece my friends decisions and because I am privy to their business. I have taken precautions and he and I spent two hours with the Toronto Police today but I have little confidence in their ability to do anything pre-emptive.

I of course hope nothing untoward comes of this, but I was glancing at the forum before heading home from the Parish. I have called my brother and close friends, but I felt that this group deserved a heartfelt posting and explanation.

To all, but especially all you fellas with whom I have conversed with on the side, ( I won't use names in case I forget someone and I wouldn't want to hurt anyones feelings) THANK YOU!

Pax,
Gareth

Hi Gareth,

I'm not one you have conversed with on the side, But I hope you will take steps to make sure you and your family are safe. I don't want to lose one of my Tyco family members.
Sometimes you have to step in and help a friend no matter what the cost.

Hey Ray:

If I could get a Green card I'd be leaving tomorrow, except that evil has to be confronted. If I was in the States I would have already bought an automatic for protection, but the sheep that run this country of Canada think we shouldn't be allowed to protect ourselves.

I may have to leave Toronto. It's going to have a lot to do with what my friend Fr. Bill decided to do.

Arizona would work for me though, after all It's not all desert!

Thanks for the encouragement though guys!

Ray you again, did that parcel arrive?

UPDATE:

Toronto Police today arrested two of the threatening people. My friend Fr. Bill was informed by the Bishop he will be transferred out of the city till the fall to allow time for this to clear up!

So some good news to be sure!

Good to hear there's been a positive development, Gareth. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.

Seriously, stay safe and keep your wits about you. And if you can't get that automatic, a Tyco Mikado to the head might work in a pinch.

Gareth, I'm very glad to see things are on the mend! Sorry I didn't comment sooner... been busy as you know. I hope your friend gets his situation taken care of... and Hoo-Rah to you for watching his back!

But do take Ray's advice: move to AZ. If I'd had any sense at all I'd have stayed there when I visited in '96; just told my dad "screw it all, I'm stayin' here". I LOVED the dry heat. Trouble was I didn't want to be yet another damn fool who moves to a desert and then complains about water. But that's why there's Flagstaff. Ahh.

As for gun laws: You're a former marine, right? Who needs guns?

Hey Gic & guys:

Former Recce (Reconnasince) 8th Hussars actually. No landing craft in the inventory but similar mindset; Improvise!

Fr. Bill goesincognito tonight, and that should reduce the pressure dramatically I believe. If I keep my wits about me I shoould be ok.

Cheers,
Gareth

G--glad things are O.K with you--sorry for delayed reply. Canadians need to lobby to get the right to bear arms. I am glad i have the right to bear arms and defend myself.
