What can I use in place of the traction tires on a Mantua MU-2 drive?

For my MU-2's I just use the hair elastics you can buy at Walmart. They're too thick out of the package though, so you'll need to cut them with a sharp pair of scissors to make them thin enough for the wheels. It takes some time and patience, but it's a very cheap source.
