I recently acquired a TYCO "General" locomotive and due to it's low low price, I decided to give it a new home. Now that I have it, I need to know if it had any real pulling power. How many cars can it pull?

I honestly have no idea, but how hard would it be to try yourself? Do YOU have any equipment? Some cars are heavier or lighter than others, so it is probably best to test it with what you will be pulling. Any grades or anything you will have to tackle? What kind of track are you ui=sing? Will I ever except the fact that answering a question with another question, especially in a ramble like this, is impolite?

I ran a fleet of these in the late 70s-mid 80s and am just getting back into the hobby after 20 years. Never tried maxing them out but they could easily handle a historically reasonable length (say 6-8) of 1860 cars.
