Found these at the haunt yesterday. Their construction and other details intrigued me, and I'd like to know who made them.

First:

This one's a bit worn and missing some roof details, but otherwise solid. Nice detailing overall.

The coupler is the most interesting part as it's nearly identical (albeit smaller) to some vintage O-scale couplers I've seen. It's an operating knuckle; if you push up on the pin beneath, it opens.

Second:

I really like the looks of this one. Seems at first, very similar to the one above, but the detail is what grabbed me... for the day, that's pretty amazing! I love the chain in-line with the brakes. Varney couplers were installed, but the trucks are a sprung make I haven't seen before. The door hinges and latches are separate cast or embossed parts for relief. Is this a full craftsman kit of some period, or was it detailed by someone?

Finally, while I do like these cars and was interested enough to buy them for inspection, they don't really fit what I collect or model overall. I will sell or trade them here if anyone is interested.

I cant even begin to help you on the origins of those cars....but they are
beautifully detailed pieces.

The workmanship is terrific ...they are a really nice find !
