Rats!!!!!!!!!
I have two motor problems, (and no, they were not Powertorques!)
Picked up a late Mantua 2-8-2, in Western Maryland, Wednesday evening at the auction in New Oxford, no box, and no marks on the wheels that it had ever been ran!
Sweeeeeet!
Yesterday, I set up a loop of track, and she ran, not great, but, she did run!
For a VERY short time.
Seems everything was dry, and the motor shorted out.
(Dumbness on operator's part, see next post)
Here's the question on this one.
Should I get a replacement style motor, or invest in a Helix Humper? I'm planning on putting on a Cary shell, and re-decorating and detailing it as a B&O Q-4
The other problem is a little more interesting.
Several years ago, I came across a Talgo set.
For a while, it ran. I dug it out last evening, and discovered the motor had locked up on one of the bearings.
Freed the seized bearing, and put power to it. Nothing!
IS there any source of armitures for these style of drives?
(I'll post up pics later this week of both items!)

Update!
I took the 2-8-2 to the Model Railroad Club, we tinkered with the motor for about 5 minutes, and she's ALIVE!!!!
Seems I didn't get the armature as clean as I should have.
(DUH on my part!)
