Hi all,

let's turn back time to the 60's. There was a manufacturer selling under the name of "Tempo". This actually was the well known company of Mehanotehnika in Yugoslavia, and they offered a mining Railway (narrow gauge, H0n2/H0e), which looks quite familiar, at least in our european eyes!

Here ist the link to one of their early catalogues (1964?):

I recently aquired some of these quite rare sets, which were sold by AHM in the USA.

The set with the steamer is complete and like new, the other sets are incomplete.

Here is the yugoslavian made diesel, which differs a lot from the current Roco model (Plymouth industrial switcher)

/tyco/forum/uploaded/martin67/1712356.jpg

The steamer is a Baldwin 4-10-C saddletank.

All the wagons are marked "Roco Austria" and are still included in the current Roco catalogue.

/tyco/forum/uploaded/martin67/1712358.jpg

There are set boxes "Made in Yugoslavia"...

/tyco/forum/uploaded/martin67/1712359.jpg

...and "Made in Austria".

This train line dissapeared form the AHM and Mehanotehnika catalogues in 1971.

Cheers and have fun,

Martin

I picked up the set with the Plymouth at a show for $15.
I had to replace the axle gears on the loco but I thought that was a good deal.

You're not kidding that was a good deal, Ray. Those sets can go for some serious money. The AHM guys I know have sold some of them for $400. The AHM HO/N crossovers go for at least $30 on eBay.

The Plymouth is a much more typical of industrial switchers than most of those offered in HO. NWSL has a replacement drive for it:

I picked up some of those at a big show last year and ended up eBaying them - had one of each engine if I remember right. I think I had maybe $20 in the pair. The diesel was missing something, steamer had a drive wheel issue but ran. One of them went to Japan when it sold.

The diesel you can buy a resin copy of from Funaro which may be able to be motorized.

I also meant to add that the steam chassis was also available with a European locomotive shell - both as a tank loco and with an American style tender complete with "Union Pacific" lettering in a set with a couple of tiny coaches.
