Thanks to the cooperation of members of this forum I asked NOT to bid on this and a bit of luck I was finally able to acquire one of these for myself. One of the toughest to find Tyco plastic sharks made and it's quite a beauty. The coloring is fantastic and the lines fit the shark well.

You don't hardly see these on ebay. I have only seen a few over the years. Nice score.

Atta-boy Todd! Thanks for sharing. Your NP Shark is the most exciting piece of Tyco news we've had in quite some time.

Hey Todd,
Very nice shark! Your right about the fit of the scheme. Here are my sharks. A bit rarer then even yours. In fact, there are only 3 in existence. That's because the NMN only bought a single A-B-A set.

These started life as undec units from Model Power. #1530 is powered while #1532 is a dummy. The B-unit, #1531, is awaiting a trip through the paint shop.

Just wanted to share some of the stuff fresh out of the NMN paintshop.
 Mantua GP20
 Bachmann GP30
 Bachmann H16-44
Model Power FA-1. A second A-unit and a B-unit are awaiting the sprayer.
Athearn FP45. New passenger power for the NMN.

Hypop,
That FP45 adds some real horsies to the roster. Those were always heavy pullers, plus they gleam the rails in the process. Is that a working flasher?

AF, Yeah, I can get projects done once in awhile! Though, as you know, these "ONLY" took a year and a half to get done.
NP, That's a negative on the flashers. They are from Detail Associates and are made to be functional, but mine are not. They just need a small bulb and a flasher circuit.
The FP45 was a dummy that I converted to a powered unit. I used a large, Mabuchi motor from Allelectronics. The motor is strong and smooth, but very slow. I may now have one of the slowest passenger locos to run main lines out West!

Yeah, they are slow. That's what I used in my hi-fi Athearn Budd car, and it actually brings it down to normal speeds. You may need a time lapse to see that FP45 move.

Happy New Year to everyone, Here are 2 loco's I recently won on Ebay. Finally found the 430 Great Northern, it was listed under Bachman. And the Sharknose Canadiana. I've been looking for these for a while. Tom

I like those Mabuchi motors. (got to get a few more). Ihave put them in a couple Hi-F F7s, what a difference.
I have one in a P2K E8 and an Athearn PA. They are a little slow for passenger locos.

The sharks were built by Baldwin locomotive works in 1949 and 1950.

Hey Ray,
I picked up several of those motors to drop into several cab units. The FP45 is the only one I've finished so far. But I have an Athearn PA and PB as well as 5 C-Liners waiting for me to get some extra time. The motor is slow, but that's actually OK as my kids tend to do most of the train running here. And the layout is only 4X8. So extra slow is just fine!
