i have been trying for last year to see something,starred at it for hours,got it,why something so easy to remedy was not,handrails are wrong,did anyone correct it,the side handrails dip in centre but athearns dont,amazing how something so obvious to most can baffle a beginner ken

Hey Ken,
Athearn's model represents a "Phase 1a" model. The straight hand rails ARE correct for a phase 1a TrainMaster. However, the only phase 1a locos were the 4 demo units and the 10 units of Delaware, Lackawanna & Western first order.
SP did buy a pair of the demo locos, #3 and #4, but altered the hand rails at some point to have the dip found in later production models.
