Getting there on the rebuild. I was going to use this elastic thread for the catenary, but then realized I had enough of the Marklin preformed catenary to do the trick. Hanging them off of Atlas phone poles to give it an older look, but cheating with some of the Marklin catenary towers along the back.
I glued my thumb and index together, securely and badly, when a blob of Super Glue flew out of the tube, and my fingers were wet with this catalyst that makes it dry in seconds, while applying the red window shades while talking with my big sister, May, while I was nattering on the telephone with my other hand.
Fortunately, May is familiar with this, and suggested I use an acetone based nail polish remover, and it did the trick. Didn't loose any skin. So much for multi-tasking.
This all has to be up and running by the middle of May, as it will be going to the El Paso Museum of History for a day, during Street Car Celebration day. Fortunately, the old Bachmann trolley that I am using has the same Banana Split paint scheme. It cost me $10 a few years ago, and now they cost $80! I have burned up two other Bachmann units over the years, from continuous running at train shows. Will bring a hardy old Mantua as a just-in-case spare.

Yikes, Chops. However, the layout on the rebuild is looking great!

Finally done with Smeltertown rebuild. Wasn't so much fun as the first couple of times, but soon I can turn my attention to Tycomania VIII. Took a LOT of JB Weld and super glue, many instances of gluing my fingers together and much Diet Dr. Pepper. DONE and DONE. Will post more images and video after I get it fired up for tomorrow's exhibit. The garage is now cat proofed.
And Chopsticks says..."just you wait, Big Boy..."
