Hey, today (9-20-08) I bought a couple of tyco's, a gp-20, crane, ect., now, one engine i bought had ALCO trucks on it, and it's an f-unit, here are two pics of it, http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a318/4-4-0/Picture003.jpg and http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a318/4-4-0/Picture002.jpg thanks for any help!

That thing looks kinda cool with the silver alco trucks I suppose it could have been a screw up at the Tyco factory, but my guess would be that a previous owner changed the truck frames. I've found F-7's that have had a combination of alco frames and the standard F frames.

If you guys out there in Tycoland find an Amtrak F-7 with Alco trucks on it. Please send it back to me,I had this engine when I was a kid,and the motor burned out so I took it to the LHS and the motor was replaced along with the sideframes. I regret ever selling it.(to buy O gauge stuff)

| As Cheez pointed out, it should be easy to remake your childhood loco. Get an Amtrak F7, then find any 430 with matching drive (MU vs PT) and swap in the drivetrain. If it was a PT version, it's even easier to just swap the truck sideframes.
