i had the good fortune other day to speak to a professional model maker,and i asked him how he got the lovely shine on his loco wheels,this was his answer 2/4 mm abrasive pens,brass or fibre glass tipped works a treat ken

That's an idea I'd like to try, Ken. The glass fibers probably do a good polishing job without scratching. I wonder if it would leave micro-scratches in plastic wheels, tho.

hi got this off ebay,the pen,fibre glass for polishing,brass for the harder work,less fiddly than wet and dry etc the black pen comes with same,but is 2mm,the red is four mm,ken

just a couple of seconds with fibre glass tip

just another use i have found for the pen,this time the frass tip for getting in those fine lines of aluminium coaches that are badly tarnished ken

Hi Ken,
Here is a similar looking tool that is available from MicroMark. I have one and have used it to distress paint on buildings. I cannot find the fibre tips you have on the MicroMark site. I might try the link you posted and see if the fibre tips will work in the tool I have.

hi eaglerock109,and shaygetz there are various sizes availible on ebay and via the link,2mm,4mm 8mm and 10mm,with steel,brass and fibre glass tips,the pen will accept varioue makes as long as its the same size ie like the red pen shown 4mm,its a very versatile tool ken
