Hey,
Have been meaning to do it for some time, but finally got cranking this weekend on this long overdue project...
You'll see larger images and fresh newer higher resolution scans of catalog images for various TYCO locos. Since some of these pages have images going back to the start of the TYCO Resource in 2000, I've upgraded scanners and can now do a better job. Also, the recent purchase of the digital camera is providing for some new and improved images.
By the way, that camera was largely paid for by donations received to the sight...so when you read that visitor support helps keep the site running and expand...these new images are proof of that happening. [;)]
Bigger and Better NEW AND IMPROVED PICTURES...

I had to pick a sad example of a rather beaten old TYCO ATSF Freight F-9A for the site. This is such a common piece, I thought I needed something unqiue for its portrait...notice this guy has a broken off front coupler and cripsy Santa Fe nose herald that is falling apart and off the engine...it also is suffering from at least one broken step. Ahhhhhh, TYCO!
Actually in such condition, perhaps it is time for eBay on this diesel....hmmm...here's how I'll word it..."Don't know anything about trains and have no way to test it. This is a Santie Fay Streamliner, but appears to have its tender broken off. Believe it does smoke, but again I can't test it so it is sold as is. Model does appear to have two holes on both sides, so with a couple nails, you could be easily display it in your train room." And I'll list it with a Buy-It-Now of $100. Any Takers??? [:p]

Site is lookin' good! Nice that all the pics are close to the same size.
Do you use a lightbox? My wife and I built one yesterday - I can't believe the difference! Was wondering if that's how you get your solid white backgrounds...

Tony L.,
No, I do plan to build a small light box to snap model pics this week. I'm still really experimenting with the new camera.
Right now that is just a sheet of white posterboard laid on the dining room table with a couple desk lamps pulling in close to the model.

Tony, You forgot: It came from an Estate. With exception of all that, it is in "Mint Condition" also I'm selling it for a ton less off The Book value. [;)]

Yes VintageHO, I need to add that I'm selling it for a friend who inherited it from an estate.
And I could add it has been checked, oiled and lubed, plus benchtested by a professional. I always get a kick outta those lines, especially when it is some old Santa Fe Super630 that has its railings hanging off the body, the headlight is sticking out by the front trucks, and its missing a coupler.
What certified TYCO Service Centers are there in your area???
And beyond an exorcism, what can you really do for some older TYCO locos anyway! I always like when someone asks what they can do to make their old TYCO whatever run...my answer is usually PRAYER. [:o]

Oh, yes thanks for adding that! How could I forget to add VERY RARE to my information. I always like when I'm cruising down a page of TYCO items and see some joker listing like a Chattanooga GP-20 and it'll say in the subject line "VERY RARE! YOU NEVER SEE THESE!"...yet on that same page are two, maybe three more of 'em. Yes, you NEVER see them...except every day on eBay and at most swap meets.

YEah, I just have to wonder how many of these people, having heard the legends of people retiring on old Lionel proceeds, stumble on "this wierd box of trains I've never seen or heard of" and RUSH to post it online.
You know, it's true - "you never see" a LOT of this stuff in day-to-day yard and garage and rummage sales anymore - it was all dispensed in same, 10-15-20 years ago. Used to be you could have looked for something for years and never even knew if it really existed. Or have found something without knowing what it really was...
But Ebay has become the great equalizer and people need to learn to search there first...

Yes, "It Runs Great" is a favorite thing to see. I always roll my eyes at that one. It's a TYCO PowerTorque drive...HOW could it run great???
And those seasoned-cautionary-comments, "It Runs...But It Is A TYCO." Kinda like it's an "in" thing for the faithful who know and appreciate TYCO. It works, but don't expect too much.

Saw a great line tonight in an auction for a Spirit of '76 C430...the seller stated that they owned the model when they were a kid, but that it was only played with when they had adult supervision.
Tough Parents!
"Junior, you can't play with your trains right now we can't supervise...Mommy and Daddy are watching "Chico and the Man"...maybe later."
Hard life growing up in the '70s, huh???
