A custom freelanced Tyco Mantua caboose that was given to me at the Cumberland show by a dealer because I bought other things and showed interest in it. This was built after an article that I think appeared in MR 10+ years ago. The article showed how to center the coupola. This was before the production of the Bowser N5c Caboose.

It was slim-pickings at my hobby shop in the old-items department this week. Came home with only these two items. First is a Tyco Durango stock car--because I didn't have one, and second is an old set of Airfix (made in England) telegraph poles and cable reels--kind of different than phone poles, as the arms are shorter, and has single-wire pegs on the poles also. Can anyone tell the vintage of this package?

Thanks, Ken, spot-on again! Alco Fan, here are a few of my Tyco/Mantua old-style 40-footers: upper left is Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern (kit, unopened), upper right is a GAEX box (pre-red box), then a Burlington red box, and loose are Southern Pacific, Santa Fe, and MKT.

Adams: I like your NH streamliner...thats one of the ones I have yet to find.
This is a Via Budd dome car made by Concor. As far as I can remember, I think it was my first passenger car. I'd had it in its box for years (it was too long to run on my old layout) but I finally took it out a few weeks ago to run on my new layout. It looks good with my Walthers cars and Life-Life engine. I'm going to try and find some more of these cars to make my "Canadian" longer.
