Hello All, This past week I received another loco for my British collection, an LMS 3F 'Jinty.' It's a Hornby, runs great, and came from England by way of Ken.

For many years following the quenching of mainline revenue steam, certain people in Saint Canard had claimed that not all the mist in the area on certain cool nights, was mere meteorological phenomenon.
Indeed, for a close-knit clique that frequents the Tip Toppity Pub long after hours, those mists are more significant than any railfan might suspect.
Of course, few 21st-century people pay any serious attention to the ramblings of old men and hippie women. To them, the old track-facing sign on the building is just a long-faded ad for "7 & 5/8 baking soda, or something"... illegible. Crazy old fools, there was never a passenger platform there.
But they're wrong. There still is. If they'd only look closer at the sign under the patina of grime. And wonder why the STC main itself is strangely quiet on those vapor-heavy evenings, when STC crews and EMD techs are at a loss to explain why their trains just shut down.
If they would only dig deeper, they'd realize... the former old-town main is still used under cover of night as the lone destination of rare transatlantic journeys...
...and if they could see the proof, it might look like this:

Back to American for the moment--I saw NYC's Rutland boxcar in COTW, and remembered my Reading loco was very similar in color. It's a Mantua GP-20 with MU-2 motor, picked it up new-in-box, haven't even put handrails on (Oh, the torment of a collector/operator!) Reading logo is actually a decal.

Here my ALCO switcher lot. All these were junk when I got them, I had to rebuild the railing on the RS-2 and 415, and the 1000 had a horrible paint and no motor. The RS-2 has a 8-wheel drive frame from a RS-11 and extra weight, one of the best pulling or I guess in the case pushing engine I have.

OK, so Alco's!
Hypo and I have been on this Alco tear. He just aquired a couple of MRC 420's and I three. One of my 420's is going to him on the weekend, well actually three Alco's ...
1) MRC 420 in UP 2) P2K S1 PRR 3) P2K FA-2 PRR
I've already posted the LV version in a previous LOTW, so I thought another Alco.... Was thinking the Atlas Alco S2 in old style CP paint I just bought but it's still in the mail...
So I'll settle for this Lovely Atlas sent to me by a Canadian Pacific fan in Austraila...

Love those silver trucks!!!
-Gareth
PS; this Alco which is an Atlas Classic in original Box and lightly weathered is tenatively up for trade. It's made in China and I'd prefer to minimize my ChiComm engines. Besides I have two Atlas-Kato RS11's already.... So if you're interested, please PM me and we can talk... Off the top of my head I'm looking for a Athearn Little Monster 0-4-2T and a pre-1970 all metal Mantua Mikado... among other things...
