Hey Fellas:
I have several pieces of Chinese made 18"R curved track. It was mixed in with my Tyco "True-Steel" track. Does anyone know what it's made from?
it's marked:
Bachmann
R18 - 30deg.
China
It looks like sort of "nice" Tyco True Steel in appearance I don't think it's Nickel-Silver but I'm happy to be enlightened!
Thanks, Gareth

Bachmann Steel Track...
Today, you can buy a gondola/flatcar load of this rail. Bachmann made their attempt to have "Non-Brass" type of track. I would take most any nonbrass track. Tyco made good Tru-Steel track... almost looking like Atlas ties and more durable than Bachmann track whether it was brass or steel. And generally, the "True-Steel" track can be picked up by a crane with a magnet. Truly a neat thing!
And finally, you can buy this "True-Steel" track already attached to plastic roadbed of black. Bachmann's "E Z" track is of this type of true steel. Their nickel-silver track is attached to the grey roadbed "E Z" track.
And the "30 deg" might be a bit confusing because, if you have enough curve track to make a circle, it makes a 36" circle of 18 degree radius curvature.
I hope that answers your questions.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
