Hey folks, I have a 1983 model Texas 2-10-4 that I need to replace the headlamp on...Question is how does one do it...Having a problem of removing the shell off the chassis after removing the three screws ?? Thanks.

Here is the exploded diagram from HO Seeker. It looks like the bulb is sandwiched between the split frame.

| I appreciate that...After removing the screws the shell just won't fully drop off...It's as if something else is attached...Shell gets loose and I am just afraid to horse it out...Anybody familiar with this sort of problem ? Unit is mint !!..THANKS

I have the Plus version of their Northern, which is held together by one screw under the cab, and a two small tabs on the frame in the front. I was wondering if the dotted line from the boiler to the frame indicated a screw boss coming down from the sand dome. I think my old 0-6-0 has a third screw in the bottom cover that screws into a boss that comes down from the top of the shell. If yours has this arrangement, the screw boss may may have a tight friction fit between the frame halves, which would explain why it doesn't release.
