One of the tougher finds for the Tyco C-430's. I've been after this one for a couple of years and finally landed one at a decent price. I was happy when it came in, it's pretty sharp. One would think the 430 Santa Fe would have come in this blue & yellow scheme being that was their freight paint scheme. Full handrails also, bonus.

Another Greenberg find...
A Varney Santa Fe F7

I bought it cheap just for parts and after I got it home and saw how nice it was I did not have the heart to part it out...it even runs somewhat.

I love the colours and the paint theme. I notice I am missing the horns after taking the picture.

I believe "lokey" is a technical term from the Great White North! [:D] I first heard it from Romcat! I think it means something like our term "loco", ie locomotive.
By the way, what is the object located between the second fan and first exhaust stack? Isn't that your horn? I think someone removed the original pair of single chime horns for a multi-chime set.

You are right Gareth. The PS logo is nice and stylized and would have decorated the engines even better. I wounder if another authorization was need to print the Nittany Lion logo?

Mike,
Your Alco Demonstrator brings up a cute story. My youngest son is 7 years old now. When he was about 4 I picked up a beautiful Tyco Golden Eagle. Of course he loved it when he saw it. I went to a train show a few weeks after that and happened upon a mint condition dummy version of that Alco. I picked up it for just a couple of bucks. At first I thought it was a custom paint job, it's quite rough for factory but found out soon after it was a factory realease from AHM. That engine still adorns my sons bedroom dresser. It's the Golden Hawk.

Good story Todd, reminds me of when I first saw the Tyco Golden Eagles. I was on my way to a train meet in the early 80's, when I saw a type of liquidation store. I stopped and found Tyco Golden Eagles selling for $9.99 each. There were several boxes of them!
If only I knew what I know now... [:o]
My sons are 10 and 12, what a great time we are having!

Nice Geep, Mike. Quite the paint job, I like it.
It's made by who?
Here's mine... but no hand-railings, [B)]
It's an Athearn... older chassi, older flywheels... but, can this thing fly!
uh, you wouldn't sell yours, would ya?

John
p.s. I will reshoot this locomotive Thursday.
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
