Hey Guys:

Does anyone have one of these? The one on the right.

What motor drives it?

Thanks,
Gareth

That's interesting.
I looks like a dressed up Plymouth MDT, doesn't it?

Ray:

I've never seen one before. At least not a Mantua one. Think it's a redone Tyco Switcher?

I've wanted a Davenport for a while. I just bid on one the other day, but lost. Price went too high. [:(]

I used to have one, dressed in SP colors. Ran nicely--was basically like a Tyco with side rods and external headlights. I've heard mentioned that the body is similar to, but slightly larger than, a Tyco. I couldn't tell-don't know if it was the same tooling or not.

I don't think these are that old are they?
After a little poking around I found a mention of it in a 2006 MR.
I would like to know what drive is in one.

Hey Ray:

Was wondering that myself. That Plymouth I got is in a late Mantua Blue box so I'm real interested in seing the powerplant!

I would think your Plymouth will have the MU-2. But stranger things have happened. Look at the Tyco MDT, 3 different drives.
I would hope the Davenport would have an MU-2 drive with a modified wheel set.

Hey Ray:

The two Plymouths I have already both have MU-2 power but they are older units 60-70's. This blue box one is from 80-90's so who knows? Whats the newer unit called? Powerdrive?

Gonna have to get me one of those little siderod units! [:D]

I know, the siderods are the coolest! [}:)]

It was over $40, and the pictures of it weren't the best. There were no handrails or uncoupling lever, so either it was a simplified version, or they were missing.

I never knew it was produced in more than one roadname. Every example I've seen has been a Milwaukee.
