Whats the most flexible masking tape out there for repainting a F-Unit diesel shell? I got an spare Tyco/Mantua F-9 I wanna repaint for the Royal Blue. Also, what shade of blue matches closet to the Tyco royal blue 2-8-0? Also, how could I replate the body in a chrome color? Thats my 2 ideas for an repaint.

I use Alclad II lacquer-Chrome for Lexan #ALC 114 You can pick up at your local hobby shop.
To make it bright chrome you need to lay down a good finish of black first. It works great for me. Make sure the coats are light the lighter the better. Each coat must be dry before the next coat.

Also, what of grit of sandpaper could I use to remove that silly and hideous seem line on Mantua's F-Unit shell? I accentidently smuged the paint and wanna smooth it over.What sandpaper do I need?

I had some luck with sanding blocks, or a polishing ki,t from a hobby shop. The small 2"x 2" padded blocks start at about 1800 grit to about 3600 grit. Work from 1800 rough to 3600 fine grit and keep them wet to lube the paint.
