Refreshed 12-11-07 for Terry and other NEW members as well as the regulars

STEWART PRODUCTS IS NO LONGER THE NAME FOR TRACTION TIRES. IT HAS CHANGED TO CALUMET TRAINS. THE PRODUCT NUMBERS HAVE NOT CHANGED BUT THE NUMBER IN WALTHERS CATALOG TO ORDER HAS-IT IS =192-505 FOR TYCO DIESELS AND 192-515 FOR TYCO STEAM TENDER DRIVEN LOCOS AND 0-8-0 DRIVES

THESE TIRES FIT AND WORK PERFECT AS I THIS IS WHAT I USE. THE ABOVE NUMBERS ARE FOR TYCO DIESELS AND STEAM ENGINES AND WILL NOT WORK WITH MANTUA MU DRIVES

Made this topic sticky since this question is probably the most frequently asked on this forum (after all the one-and-done "how much is this worth?" stuff)

OK, we haven't had this question in a while....

Either the Sticky Topic was doing its job, OR the question simply hasn't been asked in anyone's mind signing up here. But there's no way to know which one!

So, in the interest of decluttering the "Recent Topics" view, I'm making this un-sticky again....

...we'll see how long it takes for the question to be asked. If too soon or too frequently, I'll make it sticky once more.

I bought some tires from a guy on ebay about $4 total. He still sells them I have not tried them but could manyana. I've only had them since the end of "08. They look as good in size as the Goodies scrunchies that a bunch of us have been using. They are round and not flat.
I have even been able to use them on my braces since dental elastics don't fair well on the rails.

I put some of the new "generic" tires being sold on the 'bay on my precious and original Red box SF C430 tonight. It did not run well.. I put on my new magnification hood and noticed I had put the tires on over top of the "goodies" scrunchies tires I had been using. Once I corrected my mistake I found that the tires seemed to work ok in about 5 mins. of operation. If I can find the dude's auction I'll post a link.

I think this is he.

Would you believe that my first B&O #283 F7 still has it's original traction tires? I bought it at a Logan Valley Mall hobby shop for $5 w/o box in '69 or '70. It's still in mint condition and has not had the tires replaced.
