While going through all the old trains in my dad's basement, I found my grandpa's tyco 0-4-0 engine w/ tender. I know it won't run, and I think I know what's wrong. There are no tender wheels , and I have finally deduced that the pickup comes from the tender wheels. Where could I get some that would work, since normal plastic rolling stock wheels won't work? Also, according to my dad, at one point a wire was added in place of a standard ring where the engine electrically connects to the tender. Is that true, and if so, where can I find that part as well? Are there replacement tender handrails as well? Thank you in advance for all your help, David

You can go to HO Seeker.net and find a parts diagram for that locomotive. Yes, there are metal wheelsets available. A decent train hobby store will have them. Walthers.ocm should have them. You can get the basic info from HO seeker. Such as wheel size and type of 0-4-0: shifter, saddle tank, side tank, etc... this will help when ordering or browsing through a website, such as Walthers or NWSL and many others.
Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

Just checked. Definitely a Shifter, and by the way, it is a Santa Fe roadname.

Just hook uo the wires of your transformer directly to the motor and see if she'llrun. If not, GET TO CLEANING!
