Sorry if I jumped the gun in starting this weeks LoTW but I had a question. I was wondering if anyone could identify my LoTW. I recently got this in a box of Tyco stuff but it is not Tyco....at least I do not think so. The bottom of the Loco says "Made in Macao" on it but no manufacturer. I dare say that it is a poorly constructed locomotive. It is obviously loosely based on U.S. prototypes but the cab looks distinctly european to me:

Thanks and have a great week!

This week down here in Texas--David meets Goliath! We have a Super 630 in ICG paint making a rare appearance "outside his box." Its stock number is 243-14, and the Sears price tag shows it selling for $7.99. Handrails are still separately packaged, and not yet applied. This is my only PT loco, as all others are MU-2 or switchers, or steam. The steamer is Tyco's "Booser II," a later 'red box' evolution of Mantua's venerable steam switcher. It sports a plastic instead of cast boiler, better detailing, and a working headlight. Shape of tanks has become rounded instead of the older squarish saddle tanks. I've made better deals on locos (paid a whopping $18 for this NIB!), but it remains one of my favorites.

That loco you have was marketed by Life Like in the early 80s to the early 90s. That were actualy made by Playart. That loco is a Euro type engine, while the tender is an American design.

Yep. The engine is modeled on a German-prototype tender locomotive(no water tank or fuel bunker back of the cab.)

Adams, a handsome model and a heck of a deal. I am expecting an ICG soon as well. Rush ,I agree not the typical Pennsy cab or boiler front. I have one I picked up that had this kind of detail but is a friction toy. Looks very similar.

Thanks for the I.D. on this one guys! I really had no clue. As a sidenote, the engine ran when I tested it but there is a problem with the gears. It will probably be a static piece for now.

Nice NH Alco, Choochin! I've been looking for a Tyco NH loco (Alco, F-9, or E-8) to pull my NH passenger cars. Not too many around here in Texas, though! Right now, they are being pulled by a PC loco (kind of correct, right?).

Here's the other side.
Rush,I have two of those locos that have cracked gears, must be a common problem.
Adams,Thanks for the comments,I picked this one at a local train show for about 10 bucks.

At first it was the PRR,and NYC,but the ICC wouldn't approve the merger unless the NH was included.

Hi All,
Nice stuff. This is a Mantua steamer I just got for Valentines day from the Great One. It needs some work and a front truck. It's all metal and Boy is it heavy. I can't wait to get her going.
 Thanks for looking.

Pennsylvania, New York Central>Penn Central>New York-New Haven-Hartford>Reading>Conrail... maybe I got some of that wrong..
This little beauty, I call my "Hockey Loco" for obvious reasons... RivaRossi. I had one like this about 30 years ago. They last forever... okay, the previous one I had met its fate on the concrete floor... (perhaps this is a rreincarrnation?) But it pulls more than it looks and is also a smooth mojo! Anyway...
enjoy
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Hey AF:
Just sold Brian two of those another to Gregg "Outofstorage" and one the PC I had to Tony "GIC"
Still have my MIB S076 and Canadiana 430's, as well as a mint CN 430. Plus the 4 630's.
I'm revamping my collection. Going to go to fewer, rarer stuff. Only Mantua in my sights right now is a late 40's early 50's Atlantic.
I also intend to complete my Hobbytown Metal Alco collection this year. Probably buy my first Brass this year. Only things that don't appeaar in plastic. Again Alco's like a T6 and a Milwaukee EP-2 Bi-Polar.

Well, since the SF 430 has already been posted, and I posted my Canadiana 430 here back in the summer, I'll post a pic of my Tyco Silver Streak. It holds a nice place on my Tyco shelf until I get my train yard built. Its very very shiny.[:p] [:p] [:p]

Hello All--Had a 'unit' train set up and thought I'd share it with the board. Loco is an early brown box GP 20 with MU-2 motor (handrails still in the box). Hoppers are Tyco non-operating CB&Q (Burlington). Caboose is older Tyco/Mantua Burlington.

This showed up in lot of junk parts, this week. I don't think I found one of Bob's prototypes , but I thought it was pretty cool, and S.P. acutally bought a few of these.

I have all kind of interesting stuff in these lots and I'll put more pics up when I get it put together. Jeremy

That appears to be a HH 630 with BB trucks. Sure isn't one of Tyco's 430's the body shell is a 630. Even if it were a 430 it wouldn' t be that long.
I have a HH 430 in the works despite there never having been one made by Alco. Haven't gotten a Hobbytown metal chassis for it yet which is what I want to use.
