I just picked up a Hawthorne Angels train set complete with all 6 cars, track, and transformer. I think it's a pretty strong loco and I like the metal rolling passenger cars. I'm thinking of ways outside of buying metal wheels, to improve the rolling stock on my other cars. All of them have plastic wheels and seem to have some drag coming from somewhere. I have tried graphite and other lubes to help reduce friction, but nothing seems to help. I also cleaned and varified that the truck turn freely. I'm thinking of fabricating my own metal wheels using my lathe to see how that turns out, but what thoughts do you guys have? I can't seem to find much info regarding tips to improve the plastic wheel sets.

Thanks,
pid
